Easily my favorite sushi restaurant in the area by a mile. I've checked out plenty of sushi restaurants in the Pleasant Hill, Martinez, Concord, and Walnut Creek area, and Momoyama is the king. I'm genuinely shocked that I didn't leave a review sooner, because after eating at a lot of sushi restaurants in the area, I could never go anywhere else. The waiters and waitresses are friendly and pleasant. The noise level is suitable to have a normal conversation with people you come in groups with, and that's even with a full house. When you come here, you're in for a treat.

The ambience is nice and servers are friendly. Soup always seems to be lukewarm, not hot. I enjoy their bento boxes. Portions are big and their sushi rolls are good. Parking can be challenging. I was a little annoyed they don't refill Iced Tea... the server said it will be full-priced. I'll pass. Their water tastes bad from the faucet. They should put a filer on tap.

Generous portions, great quality and price. What's not to like? We came on a busy Saturday night around 7 and there was a short wait but we were seated promptly. Our servers were friendly and checked on us to make sure we were good. We ordered the fried oysters, ultimate sashimi combo ($50 level), dinner bento, hamachi Kama, and a large sake. More than enough food for 4 people and we even took home leftovers. Don't sleep on this hidden gem. Or maybe you should so the line doesn't get any longer than it should.

Let me start with the service - Always excellent, very attentive & always pleasant! Food- Come very hungry, huge serving, sushi always fresh, everything they serve is very fresh & tasty. Food prices- very reasonable. I would recommend & come to this restaurant again- one of our favorite Japanese restaurant.

Thrilled to leave a 5-star review for Sushi Momoyama! A hidden treasure in Concord, it offers some of the freshest sushi and sashimi you can get. Located in a not-so-obvious strip mall, once you walk in, you're greeted with a warm welcome. The sashimi dinner assortment is a must-try, complete with a house salad and miso soup as starters. And the pleasant surprise of a free roll adds to the dining delight. Having been here a few times, it's consistently a great dining experience.

Still going to Momoyama after many years, before, during and post pandemic. Quality of food never change and service is always good. This time we order sashimi and it comes with rice. We love salmon, tuna and hamachi and they were able to customize what we love. Also huge salmon hand roll! And the hotate scallop nirigi is a bomb! Fresh and melt in your mouth! Very satisfied dinner!
