Not sure why this branch of La Vic's has low reviews but my experience here was great. I'm very much used to the La Vic's experience as I've been to the other branches many times. This was my first time coming to this one and I stopped by ~5:00 PM on a Friday. Not crazy busy but it definitely got busier as we ate. My recommendation: order the super burrito with carne asada. Make sure you specifically ask to grill the tortilla! That is a game changer and gives the outside texture. Just do it.

This place was recommended to me because of the orange sauce so I tried the asada and pastor regular tacos. I liked the asada taco a lot especially with the orange sauce but I didn't love the pastor. Next time I would try the asada burrito with the orange sauce. The service was fast and friendly and the restaurant was spacious and clean. It wasn't busy at all during Saturday lunch time probably because they have so many locations. I recommend trying the asada taco or burrito with orange sauce here.

Honestly I love La Vic's mostly because it's nostalgia for me and I've been coming here every now and then, for the past decade. The food is generally good (I like the burrito and quesadilla), but it's nothing special. It is nice that they're open late in downtown, so it's always a great place to stop by and grab food. The orange sauce though!!! That sauce elevates the flavor profile of their foods. A must to include it. Usually I order the horchata as well, which tastes great and the flavor isn't watered down or lackluster.

After a few bars, we ended up at La Vics. It was my first time at this location and it was poppin'!!! It was easy and pretty fast to order, considering how busy it was at 1:30am. Food at La Vics is always good.... The orange sauce does not let you down. It's def loud (drunk people with drunchies) but that's a given. La Vic's is a bay area staple.

Used to come here way back in the day after club nights, lol! First time here in maybe 8+ years. This place can get packed at night, but the food comes out reasonably fast. This time around, I ordered an al pastor super burrito and an al pastor taco. Both were good! The star of the show is their orange sauce, though! I think it's a chipotle garlic sauce maybe? Either way, it's delicious! I used to buy some bottles to-go back in the day, and on this recent trip, I got a bottle for old time's sake!

I'm not just a fan of La Vic, I'm a fan of the Santa Clara Street location, open late, plenty of seating, efficient service even when they're busy, and great option to have for an easy meal when enjoying a night out downtown. Expect to see drunken college kids here on the weekends or energetic Sharks fans on game day, don't fret, it won't stop you from getting your late night fix of stuffed burritos and tacos in a casual and carefree environment. My fave, the super flour carne asada quesadilla! Okay, the flavor of the meat and overall quality of ingredients deserves maybe 3.5 stars on its own, but can't take for granted the simple menu, affordable prices, reliable service, bright and spacious setting, and convenient parking garage just around the corner (or street parking if you get lucky). For the overall experience here, I'd say 5 stars is appropriate, despite the restaurant's shortcomings. Who needs perfection, when you have orange sauce!?! Just don't let the door hit you on the way out... seriously, it's really heavy!
