Legendary Chinatown LES institution. Always a line out the door. No frills takeout spot serving very solid Chinese BBQ at a reasonable price. Went on a weekday around 6ish and there was a decent line. Got progressively more busy while we were waiting in line. It's a two-man operation so it's kind of slow, but not a snail's pace. Maybe only 10-15min waiting? The CBBQ was solid! Total was $16 for the large duck and char siu (roasted pork). I think there could've been maybe more duck pieces, but char siu there was quite a bit. Some cabbage to soak up all the meat juices on a bed of white rice (it's not jasmine so not exactly the nicest rice, but fine). I probably wouldn't want to wait too long in line for this, especially on a weekend, but it's still good and worth it if the line is light / you're looking for some cheap eats.

Waited in line over 35min- overall menu is limited but basically you can order 3 meats (pork, duck, chicken) or 2 or just 1 over rice. It's also served with cabbage. For a small it's about $6.50 (we ordered with pork/duck) and was very hot and fresh. This is a must try! The shop is super small and the 2 men tried to move quickly and work efficiently. No seating at all. Over all absolutely recommend if you love pork or duck!!!

If you love duck - this is the best place to come in NYC for amazing roast duck for a great price. For $5.50 you can get the small roast duck bowl that comes with rice and cabbage. The large size comes in a larger container but it mostly just has more rice and slightly more meat but overall I would say the small size is the best deal. Roast pork was the easiest to eat. Roast duck has a lot of bones making it tougher to eat on the go. Service is quick and ingredients are fresh. No dine in - only to go orders.

Good portion for the price! We came on a Friday morning and luckily short line, but noticed line grew long once we left. Staff are efficient and work fast so line goes quick. The local lady in front of us raved about this place and shared that her husband loves the roasted chicken, ordered a large portion of just that. We got a small size with char siu, roasted duck, and rice/ cabbage for $6. We thought the char siu had good flavor and roasted pork was a lil dry (could be the cut we got) but sauce helped. Small establishment and no seating inside so found benches across the street by the park/ basketball courts, enjoyed this there while watching a friendly basketball game amongst locals (was so lovely people watching the asian elderly population out and about!). Seems like this spot is well known for locals and visitors like us! *cash only!

Cash only! I tried the triple meat combo( chicken, duck and bbq pork). It is only $6.50 for the small portion and even gives you cabbage underneath with rice. Very affordable with the price and tastes delicious! We did wait in line for around 20 min since it is a small store for takeout.

Stepping into Wah Fung No. 1, you know immediately it's all about the food. This spot serves up a roast duck over rice and cabbage that's straightforward, delicious, and incredibly wallet-friendly. Don't expect frills or fancy decor here; it's a simple setup where the focus is purely on the meal. The roast duck itself is the star--crispy skin, tender meat, well-seasoned, and paired with a generous helping of rice and just enough cabbage to make you feel slightly better about the indulgence. It's the perfect stop for a quick, satisfying meal in Chinatown that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is: incredible food at great prices. Just be prepared for a bit of a line--it's popular for a reason! We waited about an hour at around 4 on a Saturday.
